Members Present: Lloyd & Linda Guilford, Tracy & Ryan Diefenbach, Tisha Nibarger, Bob Harlow, Brett Siemens and Terri Cordray
We had a speaker from MU that came and talked to us about the Johne's testing. He said he had recieved some grants that would allow him to come to several farms in Missouri and test goats to see how prevalent Johne's was. He said the results would be completely confidential. He said depending on how big the farm was would depend on how many he would like to test but he could probably test as many as the farmer wanted. If a goat does have a positive serology test for Johne's you can retest or send in a fecal because there are false positives and false negatives. If you would like to participate in the study you can email Tracy Diefenbach or Brett Siemens they can both get you a form.
Bob Harlow called the meeting to order at Royal Inn Pizza at 1:30pm
Tisha Nibarger read the minutes, Brett Siemens moved to approve the minutes and Tracy Diefenbach 2nd the motion and they were approved.
Linda Guilford read the treasurer's report our current balance is $2774.65. Tisha Nibarger moved to approve the minutes and Brett Siemens 2nd the motion and it was approved.
April 28th Sale:
We currently have 38 head entered for the sale if you have more to sell please contact Judy ASAP.
Brett Siemens said he would probably be able to provide a handful of wethers for Clarence to talk about for his seminar.
We will plan on setting up for the sale at 5:00pm at the Litton Center. We hope those of you that work can be there when you get off.
Lloyd will order bedding for sale and show.
Tisha will provide pop and water for sale but would like for members to please donate cookies or brownies for the concession.
The next meeting will be held during the show weekend at the fairgrounds (probably Sat after shows).
Tisha moved to adjourn the meeting and Brett 2nd the motion and meeting was adjourned.
